A Legacy of Conquest

"War does not determine who is right - only who is left."

Plot/introduction: You are a student at Golden Mist Military Academy, one of the most prestigious institutions of in the Sonniet Empire. It is located just off the continent of Torgeth on floating island of Ctlethni. Students from all protectorates of the Empire come to Golden Mist Academy to prepare for entrance into the Sonniet military and earn favor from the royal family of the palace Resorondal, the seat of the Empire. Recent endeavors to expand the reach of the empire has lead to an increase in the importance of the academy and the social status of those who excel in their studies.

What distinguishes Golden Mist from lesser academies is the field experience. Every year before graduation every Senior honor student is assigned a unit students to lead on an invasion into enemy territory. It is currently the final weekend of spring break and students are eagerly returning to campus waiting to see where and with whom they'll be assigned.

Rules:
1) Follow all general forum rules and R-rated RP rules
2)Host's word is law
3) We reserve the right to kill anyone and everyone if they do something blatantly stupid to put their life in danger. Any character whose life is inadvertently put in danger by another player will most likely be spared.
4) PC's must be enrolled in the Academy as a student. You can play a senior but only GMs can play unit leaders (senior honors students). Characters should either be under or just passed the adult age of their species.
5) Characters powers and abilities must be reasonable. Use the bio below as a baseline for capable but not overpowered.

Uniforms:
The uniform for both males and females is made up of a tough brown fabric with green details over pockets and for hems. The green details each have a broken lie of gold thread passing through it's middle. The upper left hand side pocket ,over where some would expect to find a humans heart, is a gold insignia depicting a tree within the outline of a fairy. The uniforms are made up of five different pieces of clothing which are the jacket, the shirt, the tie, the leg-wear and ones boots. Additionally one may request the use of a school regulation bag or customization to ones uniform to better fit their fighting style.

The male uniform has a hooded jacket with six pockets, two of which are in the inside breasts of the jacket. The jacket is fairly well made being made of a reasonably tough material and at the same time allowing ones full range of movement. The jacket is reminiscent of a military uniform jacket and can be opened down the center. The female uniforms jacket is designed similarly.

The shirt is of the female uniform is white or off white depending on the students own budget. It is quite plain and bears no merit. The male uniforms shirt has a similar design.

The Male uniform requires that one wear a brown silken tie with the schools insignia sown into the fabric in gold with a green fill. the females uniform has a brown sort of short scarf with a similar insignia on it.

The female uniform requires either a pleated skirt running halfway don the thigh with two pockets or a long pants which also has two pockets. the males uniform requires either a short pant with two pockets or a long pants which also has two pockets. The first of the options is necessary for summer wear while the second is optional winter wear.

The shoes required in the male uniform is a pair of brown leather boots reaching up to just below the knee. There are three pockets on each boot, all of which have the green details, and a few decorative green details. The females wear thigh length bots with slightly elevated heels, three pockets and a few excess green details with their summer uniform and a pair of a similar design but reaching to just below the knee in their winter uniform. The shorter pair is however optional for female students and they are permitted to wear the thigh length boots with their winter uniform.

There are school issue hand bags and back packs designed to fit perfectly with the schools uniform. All weapons may either be school issue or brought with the student should they prefer their own weapon.


On Magic and Technology;
Magic and technology are fairly commonplace in the world in this era but some countries are noted to prefer one or the other. many places that prefer technology will shy way from magic and vice-versa but there are some realms where the two are equally disliked or embraced. magi and technology do not necessarily oppose each other, the matter is more fa preference by the user rather than having anything t do with the nature of the skill sets themselves. Magic can achieve surreal effects or more easily achieve some of the effects one would gain with technology but it will drain one of their energy and hence it cannot be performed for extended periods of time. technology on the other hand allows for he building of factories which takes a good deal of energy to build but can then run on wood,col or some other energy source to produce a desired effect without much effort. The question between technology and magic is usually a question of effect and the amount of energy you are willing to actively put into each task along with how steady the process is desired to be..

appearance: Irile is slightly above the average height for a female human standing 66 inches tall. Her eyes are a vivid pale blue with a small grey ring around the pupil and a dark blue line around the outer edge of the iris.  Her skin is naturally pale and she has spent hours outdoors just to earn a tan so slight that you would only recognize it as such if contrasted to the porcelain white skin hidden by her uniform. She has a small pointed nose and a pointed chin. The rest of her face is well rounded and her cheeks are somewhat chubby and lightly blushed. She has long thing lips of a pale pink color that tend to twist into a crooked smile. In addition to the normal school uniform she wears dark brown bike shorts that go down an inch below her uniform length skirt. She wears a leather belt with ammo pouches and a pistol holster.

equipment:
She most frequently carries 2 Uzis. These guns have collapsed stocks and use 32 round extended magazines.   She carries enough replacement clips for about 30 seconds of full auto fire from both guns not counting reload time. The SMGs are kept in twin shoulder holsters. She keeps a Swiss army knife on her person. As a backup weapon she wears a 1982 desert eagle holstered to her hip with two extra clips of ammo. She carries two orange foam earplugs that she puts in whenever she has the opportunity to before firing and often forgets to take them out. She has protective goggles that she wears around her neck or ontop of her forhead when not shooting. They are black and the lenses have an orange tint when viewed from the outside. They provide little to know protection from UV light but the hard plastics can stop dangerous projectiles such as a ricocheted mythril bullet, once. All her ammunition is made out of a myythril alloy.

In her room she also has a locked closest that contain an assortment of rifles and shotguns. She also has a locked chest with extensive amounts of ammo and a gun repair and maintenance kit.

skills:
gun nut: Irele knows everything there is to know about guns: their history, how to clean them, how to take them apart, proper safety, and of course how to use them. She can identify most makes and models on sight. She prefers automatic weapons but is capable in the use of virtually all firearms. Her ability to fill the role of a sniper is limited more by her lack of focus and patience than any lack of skill.

athletic: She is in great physical shape. She is slightly stronger than the average female of her size. She is flexible and has a good sense of balance. She is both a great sprinter and long distance runner.
magical abilities: Irele has focused her magical training in augmenting her body and weapons.

Force Reduction: Irele can break newton's 3rd law. She can cancel out the opposite reaction without having an effect on the other. The main application of this is recoil free gunfire. It can also be used to diminish the impact of physical blows and falls although she is limited to how much force she can remove from a given action. For example a collision with a train or a 100 foot drop would still kill her outright. At full power she could reduce the force of a punch from a professional heavyweight boxer to the force of a punch from a professional middleweight boxer.

CPU upgrade: She can hypercharge her brain which greatly aids her with multitasking. This allows her to aim at two separate targets at once without the loss of accuracy that normally comes with any attempts of dual wielding weapons. The benefits of this only apply to multitasking. For example she could use it to solve two long division problems at once, but not to solve one faster than normal.

Extra mag: When out of bullets she can create bullets made of compressed magical energy. These bullets disintegrate as they travel making them less effective at medium range and completely useless at long range. She can only muster enough energy to two guns full auto for about 30  seconds with her current abilities.

Land strider: By magnifying the force generated when her legs hit the ground Irele can greatly increase the speed and distance of her jumps, briefly allowing her to reach the speed of an automobile.  Using this ability can put strain on her legs to the point of severe fractures if the force is too strong or applied to frequently.

Railgun: By creating an electromagnetic pull around the barrel of a gun Irele can hyper accelerate a bullet as it leaves the chamber. The increased speed of doing so increases the damage of the bullet and increases how far it can travel before gravity starts to take effect. Becomes incredibly energy inefficient when used with automatic fire because doing so requires continues magical exertion instead of applying the effect for a fraction of a second.


Weaknesses: Besides her magically enhanced mobility (which comes at a price) Irele has no defensive capabilities. She also has few options for close range encounters and is defenseless once she empties her ammo reserves or if she is caught without her guns. Between her earplugs and the sound of her weapons she has a difficult time hearing orders and approaching danger during combat.

History: Irele comes from one of the most technologically advanced countries in the empire when it comes to weaponry. Her country is also known for shunning magic more than nearly anywhere else. Her settlement valued ingenuity and physical prowess in addition to personal freedom and ambition. She was obsessed with power and things that bring power (weapons and money) from a young age. She had always dreamed of getting into Golden Mist to prove herself. To her ecstasy she excelled in the combat oriented curriculum and extracurriculars of the academy. She was even one of the few freshman selected for the field practicum last spring where she was part of a wildly successful unit.

In case people didn't realize this RP takes place in the same world as Mist's Resrondal RP. That means while magic runs rampant technology is pretty advanced too, and I imagine that just about anything he posted in the other OOC can be applie here.
 
Also he told me that even though the cast is highschool aged (for their race's standards) it runs a lot more like a college than a typical highschool. For example most classes are electives you can choose a major or sorts, and there are lots of student ran clubs and activites. Grade is determined not by age or even necessarily the number of years spent at the school but by the number of credits a student has earned. The campus is also freakishly huge, he said the size of a city. Not that this will come into play often since we'll be dropped into a combat zone very early on.

appearance: Tinglatio is… just about the most nondescript human that you have seen, he looks very normal, at 6’0” and 147lbs he is lean, but has yet to fill out. Clean shaven blond haired,  He keeps his uniform clean, and up to regulations, but hardly exceptional or eye-catching. He does, however, always wears pants, whether it's winter or summer. He has bright blue eyes, that you would swear would sparkle if you turned off the lights.

equipment:He carries around most of his stuff on his person, as a magic user he doesn’t need much,  He has a single backpack, basically just a hydration pack, which has three main pouches, each of which holds an extradimensional space in which he carries most of his belongings, among which are a P90 and 30 extra clips, five of which are permanently enchanted with abundant ammunition, 7 healing potions, and other odds and ends which he likes to keep with him.

skills:
..Lightning Reflexes; Tinglatio is surprisingly good at getting out of the way of whatever he doesn’t want to be in the way of, whether that be explosions, cones of fire, large rocks… anything, really.
..Improved Initiative; Tinglatio can tell when something is about to go down.  He prefers to make the first move in any situation and gets a bonus to his initiative because of it.

magical abilities: Tinglatio is a spellcaster, specializing in illusion, which is not to say he cant blast his way through things when he wants to.
..Apparent Calm; Tinglatio appears to be still and calm when he takes some actions incl. drawing weapons, casting defensive/neutral spells, etc. as with illusion, there is a chance to disbelieve
..Spells: Spells are cast one at a time, although several may be maintained at one time, that saps much of Tinglatio’s concentration.
....Dancing lights;Can create several floating points of light, with the option to make the point appear as any light source(lightbulb, candle, tiny glowing hippo...)
....Illusion; using this spell creates a full illusion of anything, including lights and sound. however this illusion cannot simulate touch, smell, or taste, anyone who interacts with the illusion (touches, shoots, etc.) has a chance of disbelieving it (it doesn’t dissapear).
....Apparent Calm; Tinglatio appears to be still and calm when he takes some actions incl. drawing weapons, casting defensive/neutral spells, etc. as with illusion, there is a chance to disbelieve
....Vanish; Tinglatio becomes invisible for thirty seconds(at his current power level)
....Magic Missile; An ancient spell, but a good one nonetheless, five projectiles that never miss? what more could you ask for?
....Mage Hand; Another old one, this one allows you to telekinetically interact with any object within 40-ish meters(theres significant power drop off after 40) as with the spellcaster’s own arm/hand strength/dexterity.  
....Shield; Creates an illusory riot shield made of pure force that hovers in front of Tinglatio and blocks bullets one way(shoot out not in)
....Abundant ammunition; Enchants one or several guns on touch to automatically refill any ammo shot downrange nearly instantly for 1hr 15min(at current power level)
....Fireball; Fireball… 30 foot Firey explosion anywhere within 100m and line of sight.
....Scorching Ray; A variable beam of red-hot energy extends from a fingertip, good for lighting a stove, or for cutting that enemy to bits.  the duration varies indirectly by the length, a short half second burst at 40m, a shorter 80cm beam that can burn for hours, or anything in between(and beyond).
 
Weaknesses: without his magic, all he’s got is a P90.  All of his active spells end when he is incapacitated or he forgets about them.

History: Tinglatio was one of the few humans who was born with innate magic, and so got special treatment and training all through school, he would have made a great career in the entertainment business, said some, what with his knack for illusion magic, but Tinglatio had bigger goals in mind.  Ever since he was a little boy he wanted to go to the Golden Mist Academy, he looked up to the individuals who had the privilege of attending for their bravery, honor, and intelligence.

Drummy will be looking through balance issues but as far as lore is concerned I have one issue, history. Sorcerers generally do not use magic or use very little. Also all races are born with some level of magic but there is the choice on whether to use what magic you have or not.

Fix that and I will be fine, then you will just need Coake and Drummys ok. Also do note that the setting for this rp is set some time before Resrondal but as Drummy said it is in the same world.

Also for those playing humans. Human arcana are treated quite well  by the people of the more magically inclined countries while normal humans and treated as dwarves. In the technologically inclined countries, humans are either treated based on their skill or treated as second or third class citizens use to them being soewhat weaker than most races in either magic, physical strength or both. Humans include shapeshifters, shevites, sasquatch and yeti, through only basic humans, shape shifters and sasquatch are common on Toregth

I imagine we'll see both on campus, what is it primarily like in Gresgriegoluth? Also just how big of a minority are they on campus and in the individual countries on average?

Pale, but not pasty. He looks as though he were a sculpture, crafted by a master, no hard lines, and a gentle radiance that draws stares as he passes through non-high-elves. He goes almost everywhere with his weapons either on his person, or within close reach, as while in Gresgriegoluth, he was caught bathing a few times in a stream with his weapons at camp, which nearly went badly, leaving scars on his arms, that somehow make him even more endearing. He has brown hair, but his eyes are tinged gold. His height is quite short for a High Elf at 71 inches, and quite slim, at 125 pounds, however, this does not give him an emaciated look at all.

equipment:
Tommy has an old, but well taken care of cavalry sabre, which, like many people imagine them to be use, he uses it wrong. He hones the blade to a very fine edge and chops with it, but, however wrong it is, he uses it wrong very well, and with great effectiveness.
Then Tommy also has a Browning Hi Power pistol that he uses in concert with his sabre with a devastating effect.

skills:
Tommy has a knack for not getting jumped. Even when most surprised, he is always ready, and can never be caught flat-footed.
He also has amazing night vision, and can see extremely well, even if there is almost negligible light.
As Tommy had little formal training, he had to move to unconventional fighting styles. As such, Tommy can fight with both of his weapons with little to no impairment of his actions.
Having used his Browning for as long as he had, he is able to reload the weapon at an extraordinary rate, taking the time for reloading to being nearly a free action.
Along with his great skill in arms, he had worked constantly in the wilderness, as was the necessity to survive, and in doing so, was able to jump enormous distances and heights.

magical abilities:
Tommy was unable to practice magic of any sorts when growing up, and once he left Chateau Wraith he had no one to teach him magic, and consequently, he focused solely upon increasing his physical capabilities beyond the normal scope.


Weaknesses:
Tommy doesn’t generally care about people’s lives other than his own. However, he will help children, as they are incomplete in his mind; and will always attempt to save a hostage. Tommy will still feel no regret at removing someone who gets in the way of his goal, if that means the hostage after they are saved, then so be it.


History:
Tommy Wraith was born in Seivanies, into the great House Wraith, one of the most rich and influential families in the whole of Seivanies. Tommy’s father held the power of the family with an iron fist, and controlled with puppets many decisions in the government. With this power, came a great temptation to his children, most specifically, his sons. After his eldest son, Madrigal, decided that he had become more powerful than Poppa, he tried to off his father, and found, that Poppa wasn’t weak in any way, shape, or form. Then, after Madrigal died, Poppa decided to start removing his sons one accident at a time. Many years and many new and dead children later, Tommy was born, and, as he came of age, he wanted to join Golden Mist Military Academy, however his Poppa adamantly refused, and soon after that, Tommy was invited by a well place wire to take a tumble down the stairs. After politely refusing, he ran across a few more issues, and noticing a pattern in his brothers’ deaths, took a hint and left. From there, he traveled around and came to Gresgriegoluth and lived there for a few years, living off the land, and returning to some small towns for outside information and supplies. Then, hearing the name Golden Mist Military Academy come up in a conversation, Tommy decided that he would apply, and that in any way necessary, become the best at the school, so that he would be successful where Madrigal was not, and rid Seivanies of a tyrant.

Your character seems to use magic that is more appropriate to fit into either mage craft or wizardry as there are elements of both. Look at the Resrondal link in my post to decide where your character would fit.

Humans would likely make up only 5 or 10 percent of the campus at most. as for Gresgriegoluth. They are only interested in skill in crafting and metalwork, race and gender don't really matter that much to them.

Cool, the only problem I see is that Seivanies is ruled by it's monarchy who have advisors. All power within the empire is held with the Soniette family. The wraith family could likely have some influence with the emperor and empress. I would also like a bit more description on where he had gained his skills such as his night vision which is not typical of an elf.

When attempting to avoid being caught by Poppa, he had to travel at night and travel silently for weeks at a time or else be found, over that time he developed a knack for seeing in lower light.

And the major thing that the Wraith family does, is puppet mastering their way into control over a society. Once again, your word is law.

Adding to what Coke said please be sure to read the race page if you are using one of Mist's races. Even his dwarves are different, and dwarves are never different.

I'm not sure how Elves age in Mist's world. You're character may be too young. I know my 52 year old in another RP looks about 9. I'm hoping Mist will weigh in on this because I have no idea.

As For Brennie's character I have some concerncs but overall think it can be approved as is. First I want to make it clear that you will not be spamming spells infinitely. There is generally an unwritten understanding that guns and spells get the advantage of range and destructive power over melee as a trade off for being less sustainable. So just don't go too crazy when the IC rolls around, you don't need any hard spell limits. That goes for anyone planning a mage character. Don't worry I won't restrict magic to the point that it is boring/pointless.

Also I generally don't like guaranteed hits, even though the way most people RP accuracy is essentially 100% except for PVP anyway. Since you took both the accuracy and number of missles from D&D I am expecting you to take the piss poor damage as well.

I hope both those seem reasonable. It is also worth noting that a P90 packs a hell of a punch for someone not used to using guns, especially when firing full auto which you seem to be planning on doing.

Appearance: He is tall at 7 feet 11 inches, and weighs 185 pounds. He wears a variant of the standard school uniform, but with long pants for all seasons, and a  Mahtan has sleek facial features. His hair is a silver-grey color, and his eyes are a pale blue. His only true blemish is a single scar that runs down his left cheek.

Equipment: He carries a .44 Magnum revolver in a holster as his sidearm at all times, he also has a boot-knife on his left boot.

Skills:
Quick Draw: He can quickly draw his weapon in a matter of seconds, and fire shortly after.
Marksman: Mahtan is a skilled firearms marksman, and can place targets with a pistol at long ranges with ease.
Tactical Genious: Mahtan is a extremely intelligent when it comes to tactics, and can out-strategize most people. This is also very helpful in a game of chess, as well as at war.

Magical Abilities: He has varying control over magic, but knowledge of most spells. He can cast with variable ease, and uses it often.

Weaknesses: He's gotten less agile in his old age, and cannot commit himself to direct confrontation, having given that up to leading the school. He has very few out-of-war skills, and rarely does much other than manage the school.

Ein right now your character worries me almost to no end. I'll take a second look at it after I put a few hours into my classroom.

Coke, I think even your elf is a little on the short side. Unless I have a huge nogin a head is about 10 inches in height, I'll cut that to 8 because people frequenlty tell me I have a huge nogin. At three heads taller on average (what Mist said) anormal high elf is a staggering 7'4" or 7'8" depending on whether the comparrison uses the average female or male human respectively.

Tinglatio is mostly not an offensive caster(yes, piss poor damage). He is mainly an illusionist. P90 concerns noted and allowed for.

You say that but he seems to be a good balance between the two ability wise if not leaning more offesnively to me, but I'm fine with that either way.

Ein, right now I'm talking with the main GMs of the RP, but I am highly doubting I'll be able to approve your character. I'm afraid there is not much to do to fix it either since it's the core concept I have a problem with. There are two things that have kept me from saying no outright. The first is that I had similar concerns with your time thief, but those were erased by you explaining things more and actually watching you play the character a bit. The major one is that the range of your ability is very short.

Now I am going to showcase some potential applications of your powers that have me terrified. The thing they have in common is most even at the current rate can instantly kill anyone or thing. Most if not everything on this list can be accomplished with the displacement of as little as 5 cubic centimeters.

Turning the blood of a living creature into anything other than blood, even a little bit (less than 5 cubic centimeters) is an instant kill in most cases and even if not instantly lethal it will remove them from combat almost immediately and almost certainly kill them soon after. The air in a person's lungs could be tampered with the same way
Transforming a lubricant of a machine into this will basically do the same thing to any machine with the added issue of a possible explosion.

Anything that relies on combustion including firearms or engines can be made to explode horrifically by changing the fuel or the air that is being compressed and expanded in the process.

Turning 5cm3 of any living thing's brain into anything would cause serious damage if not instant death. I don't think we have computers but the same could be said of a CPU.
All non-martial weapons could be neutralized by messing with one tiny part.

Armor and building fortifications can be rendered completely useless. This could take some time but is still incredibly useful for noncombat operations such as infiltrations.

could edit to make the ability not affect living creatures. That way I'm playing it is basically as a summon ability. Taking the base materials around him and turning them into a machine or weapon.

This is now irrelevant.

Ein, I am concerned with two things. First of all, the tech needed for what you are using is really advanced. Resrondal is set after this rp, and Resrondal has modern tech, the tech that we should see here would be 18th -19th century tech. Second, any form of magic that creates something new or alters matter on a subatomic level worries me. Magic like this could easily result in a economic collapse by creating precious gems or gold out of a piece of wood or dust. Those are my main problems from a word view. I would suggest leaving that which enters the domain of the gods to the gods.

Just to be clear, I have no problem with secret organisations creating illegal magi-science tech and equipping young children with them but the tech would need to fit the time frame and  magic has it's limits as well.

Appearance: Myr has straight, silky platinum blonde hair, ice blue eyes and rather young, delicate features. He is handsome like all pure bred elves and is quite athletic which has led to him building up some muscle. Myrs hair is usually kept slightly longer than what the school or his family would like. He has freckles and a single mole to the lower left of his left eye. His skin is fairly light and he stand at about 7.8 feet tall. He also will usually wear a gold circlet though there is a section removed over his forehead. At the back center and the two rounded end there are small diamonds embedded in the crown. This is the only peice of clothing that is not regulation which he constantly wears with his uniform as a symbol of his status.

Equipment: Myr uses a single pistol, a rapier, a bow and a pair of knives along with his various potions. He also has portable holes in several  pouches which he often places in his uniform. These pouches are used mainly for storing potions though one is used to keep a variety of fruit though it is mainly red apples. He also keeps his book of shadws with him which contains recipes for numerous salves. Finally, he also has a small pocket watch given to him by the headmaster. It is charmed so that it may allow him to contact the headmaster at any point n time (or vice versa) but it will die in a single lunar cycle and will need to be recharged.
Skills:  Myr is quite proficient in alchemy, being capable of crafting a poison that will induce paralysis for an hour , two minutes after it enters the bloodstream as well as a number of healing and fortifying salves and a single barrier potion which can last for a few seconds. He is able to craft arrows should he have the necessary materials. Myr has also got a basic proficiency with each of his weapons.
Magical abilities: Besides his skill in Alchemy, Myr's blood is a healing salve that can last for a few minutes. He also is an untrained sensory arcana, able to understand magical languages and see mana flows though he has a great deal of trouble interpreting them. Myr is capable of forming mana bullets, though he is only able to for one or two a day as he finds controlling mana through sheer will power to be very straining.
Weaknesses: While Myr is capable of using a wide variety of skills, he only has the most basic proficiency with any of them and will easily lose to someone who is specializes in a weapon, hence he has trained to hold off opponent while waiting for his team to assist him. His main goal is to assist his allies and hence he focuses n using his different potions to aid them.
History: Myrillian is the second youngest child of emperor Sulleran Soniette and empress Fiassielle Soniette. He enrolled in the Gold Mist military academy with hopes of impressing his father who felt distant from him and so partook in numerous courses to improve his skill and become an asset to the empire. Before enrolling at the school, he lived in a life of pure luxury and he is still quite spoilt in that he receives incredibly large sums of money as 'pocket money' which he keeps in one of his pouches.  During the holidays before the current school year, his younger sister informed him that she would be starting at the academy at the start of the year hoping he would give her some suggestions on which courses she should take among other things.

Appearance: Standing at barely more than 5ft Nolarii is far from a statuesque woman, although her curvacious body does lead some gazes towards her. She has long silver hair, tied up into two ponytails. During the rare times she does not wear the academy's uniform she hides her pale body under silken robes that, normally, hang loosly over her. She always has a silver necklace around her neck, the amulet on it is in the shape of a Treble Clef.

Equipment: Etwahl, an enchanted zither that is bonded to her spiritually. When played in specific ways the zither acts like a bow, launching 'arrows' of sound, the magic contained within being what does the damage. Etwahl also has bladed sides, should she come under attack in melee.
Skills: Zitherist: Nolarii is a skilled zitherist, able to pluck out tunes with relative ease. Her focus on this, though, has left many other things to be left wanting. The zither has a strap to be sling across her back and, when she wills it, will hover close to Nolarii's fingers via a gravity magic-based enchantment.

CQC: If push comes to shove she has some (not much) skill in using Etwahl as a melee weapon, though she does not like this.

Magical abilities: Mental Vocal Projection: Using her amulet she can project a voice into other's minds. Save for writing this is her only means of communication through words.
Flash Frost: Nolarii fires an orb of frozen sound from one of Etwahl's strings, exploding in icy shards on impact with solid matter
Frostbite: Nolarii launches an icicle from Etwahl at a single foe.
Blaze: A fire version of Flash Frost
Incineration: Nolarii sweeps her hands across Etwahl, spraying fire out in front of her.
Sound Volley: Nolarii sweeps her hands across Etwahl, launching bolts of sound out in a 45 degree cone.
Crystal Crochet: A long range spell launched from Etwahl as if it were a bow, it launches an enormous crystal arrow of sound that travels with a reduced effect from gravity, allowing it to reach more distant targets
Mystic Chime: A blast of pure magic, shot from Etwahl as if it were a bow.
Breive Barrage: A powerful spell with great mental recoil, it launches a barrage of sound in a crescent shape out from Etwahl. It requires a short charge time unlike her other spells and is her longest range. It loses power as it travels however and is easily blocked by anti-magic effects.
Binding Tone: Nolarii sweeps one hand across her zither to launch a ball of light at a target, should it connect it will magically bind their feet to the ground, effectively halting their movement, for two seconds.
Ode to Valour: Nolarii shows her skills as a zitherist, bringing out the innate magic of Etwahl with an upbeat military tune, allies hearing it being granted stronger magics and a magical boost to the strength of their muscles.
Melancholy of Fortitude: Nolarii shows her skills as a zitherist, bringing out the innate magic of Etwahl with a soothing tune, which, upon starting the tune, heals minor wounds of allies hearing it, imbuing magic into either skin or armour to toughen against further attacks.
March of Celerity: Nolarii shows her skills as a zitherist, bringing out the innate magic of Etwahl with a tune of unchanging beat, imbuing the magic into their legs (Or other body parts for motion, such as wings) to allow them to move faster without expending as much energy.
Crescendo: With a sweep of her hands across Etwahl, Nolarii calls upon the zither's innate magics to send forth a massive blast of sound, followed by a shockwave. The focused sound is dangerously loud, and often forcibly weakened just to stun intead of break the eardums. The shockwave is powerful enough, at full power, to knock a full grown human male 10ft backwards.
Piercing Chord: Using Etwahl like a bow this spell unleashes a small blast of sound that does not dissipate after striking a foe, instead disspating after 200ft, weakening as it passes though beings.

Weaknesses: Due to her heavy reliance on magic to do much of aid, the moment she enters an anti-magic field she is useless. She is also unable to physically make even the slightest semblance of vocal sound, having to project a voice telepathically via the magics of her amulet. All of her magics have varying cooldown,s depending on their power requiring her to be tactical about their use or be left bereft of much to do.
