The Journey - Full Empty
PostSubject: The Journey - Full   The Journey - Full EmptyTue Aug 20, 2013 8:32 am

The Journey

This roleplay is a group roleplay in which you and the other players are encouraged to build relationships between the characters, be it through collaborative conversations or campfire stories, whatever.  The point is there is a lot of emphasis on character relationship, and I expect you guys to get together and make your characters talk about life and other things, virtually anything the characters want to talk about.

Other than that the RP is about a group of strangers who have come together to take down a dragon that's been terrorizing the locals.  It's not a very powerful or good story, pretty cliche, but that's not the emphasis - it's the character interaction.  So you're all drawn together, either for payment, adventure, treasure, what have you, to team up and go take down this dragon.  He's not exactly close and so you guys will have to travel there (hence, The Journey).

Along the way you will come across several 'crossroads', which you will have to decide - as a group - where to go and what to do.  Over a mountain, or through a forest?  Follow the river, or take a shortcut?  Not to mention the people you will meet - which you will decide on how to accomplish, whether they join you or not, etc.  You will also take regular breaks at night around a campfire, where you can sleep or stay up and talk about things to further character interaction.  And every battle you're in will be dangerous and will require teamwork and cooperation to succeed, so their are no lone-wolves and strategy will play a part in battle.

Characters
Drummy - Alexandra Lavin, the half-giant
Paradox - Meera, the gentle healer
Lord Coake - Vrael Lithron, the exiled Elven Prince
Kitty Kinz - Jessie Lon Danguard, the Rune Elf
Riffus Maximus - Theodore Shadowbane, the Witch-Slayer
Darth Williams - Amat Ceras Arasu, the Seraph/Balor hybrid
Aroro - Rico Rodriguez, the sneaky rogue
Green-Eyed Demon - Vaxal Sunderborn, the demonsoul human
Skulexander - Nine, the mechanical humanoid construct.

Torik Valgard - A freelance warrior put in command by Baron Frederick to deal with the situation of the dragon.  He does not take a role in the journey, but he handles all matters associated with it.
Lord Hakor - Hakor is the Lord of Northwind, the city you'll be starting in.
King Rogas - Current king of the northern lands.

The Journey - Full Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Journey - Full   The Journey - Full EmptyTue Aug 20, 2013 8:38 am

Name:Alexandra Lavin
Race: Half Giant (that doesn't mean she is half human, just half what she should be)
Gender:female
Age: 15

Appearance:Being a half giant in a human community, she is regarded as being extremely tall. Standing at 9 feet tall and weighing almost 600 lbs, her size has always been her defining trait, partially because of her lack of any other truly remarkable features. Even proportionately, she has very long legs and a lean powerful build like a swimmer or runner. Her muscles are more toned and her skin more tanned than the other females in the countryside due to her being assigned the same outdoor labors as the men of the farms. She has thick dark brown hair that she normally wears tied back and braided. When hung lose, it falls to the bottom of her shoulder blades. She wears simple hand sewn clothing made of cheap fabric.

Equipment:all of her equipment was crafted taking her size into account so it is notably larger than otherwise equivalent items carried by others.
A relatively (see above) normal pocket knife. It has a single-sided blade that folds into the handle. The blade is broad to prevent breaking when performing tasks that can put a lot of stress on the blade such as cutting through heavy ropes.
A Sheppard's sling, a weapon made of rope used for hurling stones at high velocity. A complex braided knot around a small stone is on the end up the release cord to aid in recovery and makes for a decent whip weapon in a pinch. The cradle is made of leather and diamond shaped.

Magic:none.

Skills and Abilities:
Her great size provides undeniable benefits in combat. The strength of grown men is like that of a small boy compared to her. Her reach is superior to just about any unarmed foe, and the increased strides from her long legs allow her to cover great distances in short periods of time with relatively little effort. Her natural strength and stamina are further enhanced by her physically demanding lifestyle.
She grew up in a small farming community with a large family. This meant a lot of backyard wrestling with older boys. While she can now rely on her stature, that was not always the case in her younger days. Over the years she has acquired skill equivalent to basic knight training in unarmed combat.
Her family was largely self sufficient when she was growing up, and because of her unusual size she was forced to learn both the trades of them men and the women in her family. Therefore she is able to tend animals, raise crops, do simple carpentry, cook, sew, and tend small wounds.

Personality:She is generally friendly and very eager to please. She was taught the value of hard work at an early age, so she rarely complains unless it is about a perceived injustice. She thinks everyone should come together for the greater good, everyone does what they can't and benefit from the pulled labor, that those who have the power to give more should. She is brave and adventurous, some might say even a bit mischievous. Her age and sheltered farm life makes her a little naïve about the truths of the world like poverty and corruption, she has never known true hunger and has always been loved by her adoptive family. She is currently going through a phase of curiosity pertaining to her roots and her place in the world.

History: She was born to a arrogant giant couple who did something to anger a god or powerful wizard or something, that cursed their future offspring to be small and weak. They abandoned their first born child,  leaving the child at a human doorstep thinking it would grow up to blend in perfectly with them and no one would be wise to their shame. Unfortunately they miscalculated the growth rate the child would have. After just a few short months, it became evident to the adoptive family that the babe left at their doorstep was no normal child. But they still raised it as their own.
She grew up working on the farm. She was always loved and accepted, but sometimes a nagging feeling would rise that she didn't belong. But for the most part she had a very happy childhood filled with the same joys and dreams of any normal child, and what child never dreamed about playing the hero. When stories of trouble broke out, she packed her bags and headed north in hopes of earning her place among the legends.

It's not a bad character Drummy, but I'm not sure a half-giant would fit into this roleplay (no pun intended).

I'd prefer characters, like orcs, elves, men, even something similar to Khajiit and Argonians from TES would be fine, or half-demons, etc.

But unless you really are interested in this character enough and you think they could work I guess I can make an exception.

PostSubject: Re: The Journey - Full   The Journey - Full EmptyTue Aug 20, 2013 2:07 pm

Name: Meera
Age/Race/Gender: 19/Unicorn/Female
Appearance:
Human Form: She is five foot six, has light skin, and a petite build. She has white hair with golden streaks that goes down to her shoulders and covers her right eye. Her eyes are a light green with hints of blue.

Unicorn Form: Slightly smaller than an average horse. White hair and golden mane and tail. Her horn is a foot long and spirally.

Armor/Clothing: As a human(and only as a human) she wears white, hooded robes with golden hems. She often wears the hood. She also wears a white shirt and leggings under the robes and golden sandals.
Weapon(s): A golden staff shaped as a cross
Other: A belt of little bottles of potions(mostly healing potions) and little bags of healing herbs.

Physical Skills: Nothing special; physically, she's just like a human(while in human form of course).
Magical Abilities: As a unicorn, she is naturally excellent with healing magic(she still uses potions and herbs occasionally) and she can purify evilly-corrupted objects and cleanse them.

Personality: She is kind to anyone she meets, even to mean people. She loves nature and tries not to harm any living thing. That's why she's a healer. Her feelings are hard to hurt, but if they are, the result is drastic.
History: Not much of a history.

PostSubject: Re: The Journey - Full   The Journey - Full EmptyTue Aug 20, 2013 7:00 pm

Name: Vrael Lithron
Age/Race/Gender: 332 year old Elven Male.
Appearance: Vrael is 6 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 178 pounds. Has a light skin color, light grey hair, and deep blue eyes.

Armor/Clothing: Wears Elven-crafted armor consisting of metal scales layered in such a way as to imitate a dragon's hide. He also wears basic clothing underneath.
Weapon(s): Carries the Sword of Hoeth, and enchanted Elven blade designed to penetrate even the toughest of mortal-made armors. Only magical armors or Dwarven Mithral can stop this blade. It still only does damage equal to a regular Elven blade.
Other: Carries an Elven artifact called The Golden Shield, it is designed to protect against all non-magical weapons. Only enchanted weapons can pierce this shield.

Physical Skills: Has naturally enhanced speed, agility, and strength.
Magical Abilities: N/A

Personality: Very kind and considerate to all but other non-exiled Elves. Treats everyone he meets with kind gestures, and acts according to their culture. Does this even more to friends.

History: The only thing even rumored about his history is that he was an Elven Prince that was exiled for an unknown reason. All other non-exiled elves despise him, and feel he is unworthy of the magic items he carries. The items were given to him to help him on his journey to redeem himself from his exiled shame.

Are there no giants in this world at all?

I think if the shapeshifting unicorn is okay a half giant shouldn't be too problematic. I have high hopes for this character because the last RP she was in flopped.

She doesn't really have any outstanding skills or talents to start. I'm hoping to see her grow throughout the story, starting with picking a weapon focus and finding a PC mentor.

@Lord Coake: I like your character, he's in. Although can you tell me about the Elven Shield? Is it a literal shield he wields on his arm, or is it like a pendant that casts an impenetrable barrier around him (except for enchanted weapons)?

@Drummy: I don't doubt there would be giants in the world, but that wasn't my concern. The shapeshifting unicorn was okay by me because it had a normal-sized human counterpart, and considering most of the people would be getting a horse for the journey I figured shifting into a unicorn was just the same. If you really prefer using the half-giant, I guess I will let you.

You're both in.

Okay Coake.  I know it sounded obvious in your bio, but with elves it kind of puts me in mind of magic, so I wasn't sure if it was an aura of what.

Okay Riffus, glad to have you on board.

EDIT: Also I will have some references and dialogue that could set up a sequel of this roleplay. You can find the politics of the roleplay over in the Stories section of the forum, and it's ever-changing so you might have to check up on them again.

The Journey - Full Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Journey - Full   The Journey - Full EmptyWed Aug 21, 2013 8:54 pm

Been  waiting to put this char somewhere again.

Name: Jessie Lon Danguard  or Jess for short.
Age/Race/Gender:23 year old female, half human half Rune elve (a rare kind of elve, that is more attune to magic, and has a much paler skin tone then most elves. They mainly keep to themselves in there hidden city's, there kind are  dwindling now only a few remain)

Appearance: She has smooth and curvean features, she`s a tad taller then most humans her age but shorter then most elves, and other similar in height creatures. . She has stunning and piercing yellow eyes and flowing silk white hair that goes a little bit past her shoulders. She normally dies her hair black, keeps it covering her ears. Her skin is rather pale and burns slightly if in direct sun for a certain period of time. Her ears are pointy like a Rune elf`s but more rounded at the bottom. Rune elf markings signifying her as a child, of noble descent run from her neck all the way down to her waist. She has a small petie figure due to her lean diet that makes it easy for her to back flip off walls, and trees and such. Her hair can sometimse be messed up at the ends from her chewing on it when she gets nervous; she also has a few scars here or there, from people throwing stones, pick pocketing gone wrong, and etc. She loves to have her pet chipmunk O`mally on her shoulder, but due to not  wanting to be looked at funny  she keeps him in the backpack which she keeps slung over her shoulder.

Armor/Clothing: As for clothing, she has a varying sense of style. She enjoys ruby red dresses, and has one of her own but she normally wears more practical light clothing. In terms of armor she doeesn`t have much, never being able to afford, to buy any type of leather padding or etc.
Weapon(s):A pair of twin bronze daggers, and one slightly curved bronze dagger.
Other:  A ratty old backpack she carry's around, which holds her hand mirror, some magicel gemstones and powders (she doesn`t know how to use all of them but, they were  what here father used for rituals so she feels she can`t be without them) , a small diary, her harp, and of course a little container to collect food for O`Mally.

Physical Skills: Rouge skills: ~ you’re typical rouge skills, advanced dagger uses, sneaky ness, roof jumping, back flipping lock picking skills, and etc.

Magical Abilities: Basic Mirror Magic ~ she can detect, see, and walk through mirrors and other reflective surfaces to an extent, though she still has yet to work out some kinks.

Slight illusion magic- She can bend, waves of light to form illusions, to trick and deceive foes.

Specific illusions ~ via a minor combination of illusion and mirror magic, Jessie can cast specific illusions on people by casting them on the targets eyes.

Illusion life~ this is a unique power that is theorized she was able to gain from the mixture of magic genes on both her parents’ sides, and the manna heartened Rune Elf blood that flows through her veins. She is able, to both giver her illusions the gift of corporeal life, and take it away. The bigger or more complex the thing she brings to life/ takes life away from is the more manna and energy it drains from her.

Personality:she can come off a tad shy, due to her fear of confronting and meeting new people. Though most people thinks it`s normal shyness it`s a fear of that`ll she ether scare them away by what she can do, or that they`ll have her captured if they find out she`s a thieve. Though if you get close to her you will find she`s rather, not shy. She`s fun, a tad sporadic, spunky, kind hearted, opened minded, and forceful at times. She likes to sing and play the harp, to relive the stress of life. She can come off slightly paranoid at times. She also chews her hair when she gets nervous. She try`s to come off as a normal, shy girl to the outside world rather then a scary thief She`s like to be pampered here and there she has learned not to expect it, has a slight love of the woods and find them a good place to practice and play her harp, isn’t one to want to see people hurt, and gets embarrassed easily. . She doesn`t like to disguise her looks since she lover her silky white hair, but she has to so she doesn`t seem like a frek, and so shes less easy to be traced.

History:Jessie, has a simple history herself. Yes he parents have long and interesting hstorys but this is about one girl Jessie, Lon Danguard . One fateful starry night a vast improbability happened. A rune elev had a child with a mirror mage. There are very few rune elves left in the world, even fewer mirror mages exist in this world. Perhaps there rareteiy is what caused the universe to draw them together , we may never know for sure. As for what happened to Jessies father know one knows for sure, he seemed to truly love Jessies mother yet one day he went out the door in the morning and never returned. Jessie`s, mother who was rather at the young broke down after this,, and while she did take care of her loving daughter, she mainly kept to herself never leaving the home. Jessie had to begin to pickpocket and steal behind her mothers back just to make ends meet, or have any bread on the table. When Jessie was nearing her late teens, her broke every mirror in the house but one, and took it down the basement, and dispered form Jessie`s life for good, that crisp fall night. Jessie, began to steal more and more. it wasn`t that she was a bad or horrbile person she hated stealing but she ha to. The rumbles of her stomach, the cold winter winds agnisit her her weak clothing, she had to steal she had to live. She began needing to rapidly move and swicth to keep from being caught, that is how her journey began..

The Journey - Full Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Journey - Full   The Journey - Full EmptyThu Aug 22, 2013 11:46 am

Name: Annerose Shadowbane (AKA Rose Bane)
Age/Race/Gender: 25/Human/Female
Appearance:  About 6 feet tall and 140 lb., Annerose has a balanced body frame, far from frail but not too muscled, her light-toned body bearing magnificent curves and lines, well-shaped rounded breasts and butt and a face that would ravish most mortal souls. Her long chestnut-colored hair flows down to her mid-back, with emerald eyes to accommodate her proud and beautiful bearing.

Armor/Clothing: She wears a casual adventuring outfit; clothes adapted to traveling coupled with a light leather armor dyed black. When not her armor, Annerose is clothed in black trousers and a white shirt with the upper buttons left unmade. She pretty much looks like a woman dressed like a man. Additionally, she wears her father’s witch hunter hat and her mother’s jewelry; rings for each fingers, bracelets, earrings and a pentacle necklace.
Weapon(s):
-Witch Slayer: Belonging to her late father, Theodore Shadowbane, Witch Slayer is a shapeshifting blade accommodating its appearance to its wielder’s preference. For Bane (Annerose’s father), it was a greatsword with a tremendous potential to cleave evil mages in two with ease. In Annerose’s hands, Witch Slayer becomes a lengthy katana, providing its new wielder with a deadly length and the swiftness to quickly put away her opponents.
But Witch Slayer’s main attribute is not its shape shifting form, but the very ability it was named after by Theodore. Its ability to repel and even negate magic makes it the nightmare of Magi. Witch Slayer can only affect magic in its physical form, such as fireballs or lightning bolts. Weaker magic is absorbed in the blade to be unleashed later against the very same opponent who unleashed magic against Witch Slayer, while stronger spells vanishes out of thin air.
Additionally, those injured by Witch Slayer have their connection with magic severed for at least a minute, depending on how severe the injury is. Someone losing a limb to the sword might be cut off from magic for an entire day, or for as long as the individual is bedridden.
Other:
-The Ward: The set of jewelry that once belonged to Annerose’s mother, Anna Fairwind, once combined together, unleashes a potential thin shield of force around its wearer. The shield surrounds the wearer for as long as the entire set is wore, and it is invisible to the naked eye, only detectable by magic sight. The Ward provides a thin layer of protection around the wearer’s skin, making it as solid as adamantium. An attack made against the wearer might have reduced effects against her, such as sword slashes might not cut her, or bludgeoning force might be reduce as to not break Annerose’s bones. To add up to the physical defense, The Ward also absorbs a fair amount of magical energy in its physical form, accumulating itself until it needs to be unleashed on command. Annerose’s mother had a great use for this item as this provided her with superior defense as a Mage not wearing armor. Having adapted to Annerose, The Ward is not affected by Void Magic or the magic-devouring sword Witch Slayer.

Physical Skills:  As a seasoned warrior, Annerose has excellent combat reflexes in both close-quarters and ranged fights. She also has a fair amount of strength to back up her skills, though not as developed as healthy men.
Magical Abilities:
Being descended from both a Witch Hunter and a Sorceress, Annerose finds herself at odds with magic. While she has the ability to negate and cancel it by herself, she also seemed to have developed an affinity to curse others around her (especially Magi).

-Void Magic (or Antimagic): Born from Theodore Shadowbane, famous Witch Hunter of evil, Annerose inherited his ability to sense magic and put an end to it, be it in objects or in people. Her sword is one of the manifestation of this ability, crafted from the very hate of magic itself. Void magic has no physical manifestation of itself beside the magic-slaying sword, it usually happens unseen, affecting magic in unknown ways. A very common use is to ward the wielder against incoming spells, be them physical or mental inducing magic, such as forced sleep, illusions and such. Another common use is to dispel magic cast in an area, on someone or around her as an aura. Last but not least of its use by Annerose is to reflect a spell cast against her back to her attacker.

-Curse of Misfortune: The mix of Void Magic and Magic itself has a weird effect on Annerose. Despite not affecting her directly, the curse surrounds her as an aura, and those within 10 feet of Annerose experience weird events, product of misfortune. In combat, some affected by the curse might fumble their weapon, or trip on holes and roots, while Mages might mess up with their spell and have them blow in their face. As of yet, Annerose doesn’t know how to negate it, even if she tries using Void Magic to negate it, though she theorizes that this curse might be caused by her very mastery of Antimagic.

Personality: Annerose is a wanderer, often a loner despite having no problems working with others. She respects others’ beliefs, but she is willing to step in if those values put others’ safety at peril. Despite hating magic for what it has done to her and her family, she knows that there are some kind souls who wields magic for the benefit of others. She can’t stand those who wields magic for their own designs and end up hurting people as a result. She is the type of person who would rather follow the rules and ethics rather than acting against it. She is especially loyal to those she can call friends and to people in power with the right mindset. Annerose is a benevolent and loving woman who seeks nothing but to help others, especially at times like these where magic corrupts men and turn them into power-hungry disasters.

The Journey - Full Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Journey - Full   The Journey - Full EmptyThu Aug 22, 2013 6:34 pm

Name: Amat Ceras Arasu (Known to many as 'Hellish Purity')
Age/Race/Gender: 1619 (Only remembers the last 800 years clearly, the rest before is forgotten due to a forced amnesia)/ Half-Seraph Half-Balor/Female
Appearance: Were it not for the racial differences she would look like she was merely 17 years of age. However her heritage grants her six angelic wings, the feathers a whiteish yellow, and demonic horns, that curve from the temple towards the ears then sharpy around towards the front of her body. She also bears a 3ft barbed tail as well in a reddish hue, unlike her skin which is a rather pale white in colour. She has jet black hair that falls to her c-cup bust along with amber eyes.

Armor/Clothing: A battle-dress designed to protect and be formal. It is decorated and coloured with whites, golds and reds that reveals her heritage. The dress also comes with an extra attachment should she require a mount.
Weapon(s): Aegis of the Celestials: An Elemental Aegis (Mindlinked orb that shifted, with a small delay, into the required form. Only the being it is mindlinked to can manipulate it) made of angelic and demonic energies in an unusual unison.
Other: A Bronze amulet with an odd glow to it. It protects her mind from those who wish to affect her memory and is a keepsake from one she loved in the shape of a panther head, on the back is ingraved, in demonic runes, "Unton".

Physical Skills:
Rage Boost: A natural effect that boosts her speed and strength at a rate directly proportional to her rage.
Angelic Heritage: Due to her ancestor's closeness to light She cannot be blinded
Burning one: Seraph blood prevents her body from being set alight.
Splitter: A heavy swipe with the Aegis in the form of a large bladed weapon aimed at the joint of armour to rend and remove the targetted piece. If aimed for the helmet it can cause the helm to split or cave in.
Feather Dart: Any loose feathers on the wings are launched out of the wing toward her foes, set ablaze. These are not used toinjure, but instead to set clothing and other flammable materials aflame.
Magical Abilities: Pyre Shot: A simple spell that launches a unique ball of flames. Not in shape but in source... half of it is demonic and the other half is angelic. Both equally as deadly. This will stick to a surface and detonate should it miss.
Pyre Burst: Similar to Pyre Shot, only that instead of a fireball, a speeding and explosive ball of demonic and angelic flames is launched. Unlike Pyre Shot this will detonate on impact.
Pyre Seal: She pulls flames from both sources around her foe. Should they attempt to use magic the seal will strike them from opposing sides and prevent the spell from working. Physical prowess, however, is unaffected.
Heaven's Wrath: A spell of light that is simply a searing beam of light from above. This is formed by tracing a complicated angelic glyph and throwing it into the air. It strikes a random foe.
Hellfury: She traces a demonic glyph into the air before grabbing it and frisbeeing it towards a foe. Once it connects it drops to the floor and sleps beneath them, following their movements, calling a plume of demonic fire up. The glyph is a complicated one.
Judgement: Calling upon both sides of her heritage, she calls demonic flames from below around a foe before striking with 6 angelic blades. She finishes by teleporting above the foe and summoning a 7th blade, born of demonic and Angelic energies, launched at the victim. Using this spell is dangerous for her as it causes a lot of mental backlash and runs the risk of knocking her unconscious from the strain of channelling that much power.

Personality: She am extremely suspicious of people She doesn't know. It is very hard to gain her trust and it may come off that she's a snobby bitch. Really She's just scared to lose people she's befriended, in case she outlives them. Those that do gain her trust, however, will find she's a very caring and compassionate woman willing to lay down her life to protect those that need protection. Too many, however, go by first impressions so the number of the latter that still live is none. She refuses to let anyone touch the amulet.
History:Her life unknown due to a memory erasure 800 years prior most of her life after is shouded in as much mystery. She appears without explanation in random places, as she leads a nomadic life.

There are rumours that she had a relationship with patherkin at one point in her life. Afterwards she was seen with the amulet she now wears, refusing to even say anything about him save his name. She makes regular trips to a paticular maple tree that bears a lone grave with the same name as the one on her amulet.

The Journey - Full Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Journey - Full   The Journey - Full EmptyFri Aug 23, 2013 2:06 pm

@Riffus:  How often will Annerose wear this Ward?  I don't want her to be invincible.  Other than that I like her.  She's in, upon clarification of the Ward.

@Darth:  Accepted.

Now let me review everything and I might get an IC up.  Also, those side references I mentioned about a potential sequel are to long and detract from the story, so they will be much more subtle than I intended.

Six people are enough for a decent party. A lot of you guys are also very varied, which is good. From here on out I will conditionally accept new players that are male (we have 5 females and 1 male), and are more humanoid.

And subtle references will be made relating to a sequel, provided this receives due attention.

Expect an IC within the next 2 or 3 days.

The Journey - Full Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Journey - Full   The Journey - Full EmptyFri Aug 23, 2013 2:18 pm

Basically, the Ward was supposed to be an extra layer of protection around the wearer's skin. Think of it as a spell-absorbing thick hide. It does not make the wearer invincible, but it reduces the severity of attacks made against her. For example, light attacks from small weapons such as knives wouldn't cut her, though axes could gravely injure her instead of losing a limb.

If gender variety is an issue, I could revamp Annerose into her father, Theodore Shadowbane. That could also give the opportunity to remove that infamous Ward and replace it with a magic-nullyfying armor if it's too much trouble.

I see, so Annerose just takes less damage.  I'm fine with that.

Also the gender issue is not necessarily a problem, and the changing of gender is entirely up to you.

But assuming you use Theodore this RP, you could use Annerose the next RP provided this one garners enough respect.  But I'll leave that up to you.

EDIT:  IC is up.  Sorry if it seems rushed, could use more description I think.  But it gets the point across.

EDIT2:  Info on the world:

Northwind and Surrounding Lands

Northwind is the northernmost city in the kingdom of Vultheim.  Northwind is ruled by Lord Hakor, son of the King of Vultheim: Rogas.  North of Vultheim is mostly uncharted land, marshes, forests, and bandit country.  Father north is even more dangerous, trolls, dragons, and monsters.  Extremely far north is the Norlands, ruled by the Snow Prince himself (legend states anyway), inaccessible to anyone except the Snow Prince and his minions.  Vultheim's capital is located south of Northwind, and is called Stomhold.

Cities and landscape are similar to Whiterun and Solutide from Skyrim to put it simply, but these lands are mostly based on Northern England, Scandinavia, and Denmark, and the culture and people are mostly influenced by Norse, Saxons, Scottish, and the Normans, but more sophisticated and 'clean'. In this RP, these people are called the Danes, and are Danian.

South of Vultheim is another human land, resembling medieval France, and is called Eremir and ruled by the Eremen. Far east of Eremir is the land of the elves. South of Eremen is the dwarven kingdoms. Westward is the Dark Lands, where orcs, goblins, ogres, etc live.

The Journey - Full Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Journey - Full   The Journey - Full EmptyFri Aug 23, 2013 8:16 pm

So I revamped my bio to make Theodore instead, the original Witch Hunter I created years ago.

Name: Theodore Shadowbane (AKA Bane)
Age/Race/Gender: 33/Human/Male
Appearance:  About 6 feet and 6 inches tall and nearly 200lb. Theodore is a tall and muscled man born to be a warrior. He has long black unkept hair reaching down to just above his shoulders, his eyes brown adding up to his dark appearance. As a result to a lot of exposure to the sun, his body is lightly tanned.

Armor/Clothing: At all time, Bane is always wearing dark clothes. When gearing up for battle, he appears as a man wearing a black cloak, hiding almost what armor he wears underneath, except for his steel boots and gauntlets.
Outside of battle, Theodore is clothed in black trousers, a white shirt with a black long-sleeved vest on top and black adventuring boots. At all times however, he wears his traditional black witch-hunter hat, be it in battle or outside of.
-SpellBane: A set of armor that Theodore wears when in battle, providing efficient physical protection against attacks as a normal armor  as well as shielding the wearer from magical attacks. The armor includes gauntlets, greaves, a cuirass and arm plates. It is designed so that Bane can still move around comfortably and quickly by leaving the main body joints unhindered, shielding only but the essential and most vulnerable areas. Additionally, this set of armor has been infused with properties to negate physical magical attacks hitting the wearer. Only magic that can physically hurt the wearer is dispered, so spells like “Sleep” or “Paralyze” still affect the wearer.

Weapon(s):
-Witch Slayer: Crafted from his own forge, Witch Slayer appears to be a normal looking claymore at first glance. But Theodore poured his very hate of magic into the great sword, giving it a tremendous power against those wielding magic.

Other:  N/A

Physical Skills:  A warrior of experience as a seasoned adventurer and of great natural strength makes him a deadly fighter at close-quarters fights. His great strength also allows him to easily overpower less-powerful foes.

Magical Abilities:
Training as a Witch Hunter, Theodore never learned the ways of magic, and from his very hate of magic and his Witch Slaying Arts, his body cannot handle magic manipulation. As such, Bane cannot use magic, nor can he benefit from allied magic or be harmed by hostile spell.
-Witch Slaying Arts Being a Witch Hunter, Theodore mastered the ways to counter the very essence of magic, thus being able to negate spells and even reflect magical energies back to its caster by using a very intricate method derived from countering magic. His skills as a Witch Hunter includes negating magic from an incoming attack, disrupting the flow of magic within someone or an object by physical contact, sensing magical auras and identify their nature, and cut someone or something from magic for a short amount of time.

Personality: There would be no better term to define Theodore Shadowbane than “cautious”. Being mentally prepared against magic affecting his surrounding or even people around him, Bane is very wary of individuals revealing themselves to be spellcasters. He will only trust in someone wielding magic if he witnesses that individual performing its art to the welfare of others. Until then, he seems rather cold to everyone, always maintaining a serious behavior and doesn’t seem fun to hang out with.

He is however a well-intentioned man, seeking out to help others rather than cause pain and harm the weak. His sense of justice and his hate for magic makes him however a very simple individual with a near narrow-minded sight. He holds tradition and laws close to his heart, thus he is rarely standing against order and laws imposed by a governing power, unless those rulers are harming its people.

History: To make a long story short, Theodore Shadowbane was raised in a village where magic and martial skills were of great importance. Few had what it takes to be a mage, and thus many were chosen to be warriors. Despite having the intelligence of someone who would be able to learn magic, Bane chose the path of the body and thus was trained as a warrior alongside many. When he reached adulthood, his martial training was put into use as he and his fellow training partners were assigned to serve for the village’s militia. He served a few years this way, until the incident happened. The Magi trained in the village became arrogant, thrity for power and bent on destroying anything in their path as a show of the power they had acquired. The whole village burned that night, families were put to the scorching flames of those power-crazed individuals. Theodore lost his family during the attack, and was one of the few surviving but gravely wounded warriors who fought back against the Magi.

Hell bent on seeking revenge against the Mages who killed his family and burned his comrades, Bane was one of those people who would not give up hope and instead take a dire path to obtain vengeance. Theodore hunted mages down for revenge and killed them senselessly for a few years. After yet another incident that put him in a most dangerous position, Bane figured that he needed more to be able to defeat mages than just simple strength. And thus, Theodore sought out forbidden knowledge and individuals who went down the same path as he, to learn the ways of the ultimate killer of mages, a Witch Hunter.

From then on, Theodore’s life wasn’t the same. Instead of being on the field slaughtering mages, he meditated on his studies as a Witch Hunter and practiced his art. From the mad and bloodthirsty mage-killer he was, he refined his mentality and instead decided to hunt down the mages that would do evil upon others. He would bring them to justice, or slay them where they stand. He won’t deny his blood-stained and violent past, but he sees it as an experience from which he could learn from, and thus maintain a calm attitude and let his newly learnt skills work for him.[/b]

I am busy right now, I will read over the bio later. But as long as Theo is similar on terms of ability and power to Anne, I will allow you to post for the time being.

The Journey - Full Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Journey - Full   The Journey - Full EmptySat Aug 24, 2013 1:22 pm

I recently took the time to plan out a good narrative for the RP. And let me say it sounds pretty awesome!

The basic rundown is that, as a group, you'll be heading north. You'll be trekking through bandit country first, then onto three more locations, and finally the dragon's lair itself.

Along the way you will make choices on:
-Where to go, possibly bypassing dangerous confrontations, at the risk of facing other dangers.
-Recruitment of more party members.
-How to tackle certain situations.

Eventually the choices you make and how you handle these matters will directly affect the battle with the dragon - which will have a direct result in who actually survives the entire RP.

So look at it like a Mass Effect game: you have choices to make and each one will directly affect the outcome of the finale.

How long should this take IC? I know the Orgeon Trail used to take 4 months.

I need to make a shopping list of sorts of things to get my character before we get to the dragon

A sufficiently large horse
armor
a weapon
some sort of training on how to use said weapon

That should cover it. I'll cross things off as we go.

The Journey - Full Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Journey - Full   The Journey - Full EmptySat Aug 24, 2013 1:32 pm

Um, a forewarning, I won't be able to post for a while come September, in which case I'll give bunny permission to whoever understands this character the best.

Name: Vera Smith, Heartbreaker Extrodinaire
Age/Race/Gender: 25, Human, Female
Appearance: Vera has long, flaming red hair that curls and waves around, reaching to the middle of her back. It frames her heart shaped face. She has bright green eyes that sparkle with mischievously. She has a voluptuous body that barely reaches five foot two inches. She is not skinny nor is she chubby, but rather an adorable mixture of the two. She has a deceiving look of innocence until she opens her mouth. She is fair skinned.
(Okay so I suck at drawing, but the link to her character drawing is here)

Armor/Clothing: Vera’s clothing varies continuously, almost never wearing the same outfit twice. She seems to prefer V-neck shirts and pants. She never wears anything heavy or bulky as it weighs her down and decreases her speed. She never wears pink, as she says it clashes with her hair.
Weapon(s): Simply a dagger she keeps strapped to her side
Other: None

Physical Skills: None

Magical Abilities:

Blink: Vera uses the air around her to propel herself at incredible speeds. She travels a short distance in the "blink" of an eye. She can only use it to locations she can see.

Fly: Similar to Blink, Vera manipulates the air in order to allow her flight.

"Boom! I just punched you!": As Vera goes to throw a blow, she can force the air around her to make a certain body part move faster. Of course, her bones and muscles are still as strong as they used to be. If she uses this skill too much, it will cause dramatic wear and tear on her body.

Extension of Self: Vera shoots several bursts of air towards an opponent. It is not very accurate but it is incredibly fast and can cause a loss of breath and bruising if it makes contact.

Shield: Vera creates a circular gale around herself, picking up stones and sticks as it spins around her. It serves as a potent barrier.

Suffocate: Vera can pull the oxygen out around someone's head, causing suffocation. The victim needs to be still for this to work and Vera needs to concentrate hard in order to make it work. She hardly ever uses it except for a method of torture. She has never killed someone with it, preferring to let them panic instead.
