Commentary Thread
Lament of the Nightingale
Children of the day, children of the night,
If you'd hear the tale of a daft old loon
For you I shall sing of that silver light:
Nurturing sight of our guardian moon.
Fear not the shadows, succumb to their heat;
Our angel of night shields us from above
With her ivory cloak and eyes so sweet.
Listen, hear of her unrequited love.
High in the heavens lies her golden mate,
Though he is quite demure and flees from her
Across azure skies, and thus is her fate:
To chase her love 'til her love is secure.
So do not shun our argent observer,
Revel in her blessings and comfort her.

Let Our Life Start
(Valentine's Gift to Aura)

I often find myself awake at night,
Paralyzed by the monumental weight
Of the life I will share with my soulmate,
Like a colossus of cold, frigid fright.
The knowledge with which elder paths alight
Will not be mine to wield, nor do the Fates
And their thread bode well for those whose mind's gait
Is lame with wisdom lacked and clouded sight.
But then my eyes turn to my sweet angel,
Her drowsy smile charming near and far,
And strength wells at the bottom of my heart.
I feel I could weather heaven and hell
Or hack away the black chains crossing stars.
Let the future come, and let our life start.

Asleep and Respiring
I rouse in the rays of a rising sun,
An angel asleep and respiring
In my arms, her heart selflessly singing
A song of light's warmth and souls soundly spun.
Upon our skin the serene remnants run,
Within your core is Phanean thrumming,
Within mine is a still lake becoming
A well of wonder and satisfaction.
My one and only, my sun and honey.
With you I can forge heaven out of hell,
Convene with the stars in your sterling eyes,
And face the fields of all failure sunny.
If I could be anywhere, I would tell
Of however I feel when we twine our ties.

Empty Shells Forlorn
That time betwixt frontier trails yet again:
The wagon roads run ragged and torn.
Persistence fades, our weary all are worn
By grounds unfound and reign of far wrought fen.
Muck clings to man and boot like those of ten
And tremors tear through empty shells forlorn,
Their skin as leather- bleached from famine borne,
Eyes sunk in sockets and from hunger widened.
We carry on through pitch black mud no matter-
They at my back and I at theirs for good,
Forging ahead through thick and darkened marsh,
Undeterred by road's length or grime's spatter
Through power together in brotherhood.
Now up ahead the distance seems not harsh.
