Long ago, there was a war between the human kingdoms and the creatures' republic over rule of the continent. Of course, it didn’t start out with full-blown battles with knights, but rather a few skirmishes in human cities forced the human kingdoms to retaliate, lest the republic managed to apologize. Yet a dark power had taken command of the council and waged war over the lands that they claimed were ‘rightfully theirs’. It took a grueling ten years until it finally came to the end, with the republic demolished and its capital burned to the ground, the human kingdoms dividing up the land amongst themselves.

However, the population of creatures did not completely disappear. In fact, they were forced to integrate into human society, a society that loathed their very existence because of that painful decade. They hid their identities as best they could; others who were not fortunate enough to pass for a human became the scum of the earth, homeless on the streets with many people spitting right at their feet. Yet, when some escaped away from civilization, into the depths of the Northern Forests, they were never heard from again. Well that’s not quite true, they are found again. However, they lose much of themselves. Gone is their personality and their virtues and in their stead, there is malice and the craving of destruction. These beings are known as Spitespawn.

Spitespawn are strong creatures, much more powerful than the greatest knights of all the land. To kill even one, dozens of lives are lost. And even though the people have tried to burn down the Northern Lands in an attempt to kill them, the fire refuses to burn even a single leaf. The ominous aura surrounding the forest scares even the bravest of adventurers; all the options that humans once had were seemingly incapable of dispelling the Spitespawn. And so, they lie in wait, trying to find another way to stop the beasts before they plague the kingdoms…

Greetings and welcome to the vast kingdom of Luneia! This grand power is known for its control over ports and shipping, in turn creating a rich and multicultural environment that accepts all kinds of people. This is especially obvious in Zavaal, the capital that overlooks the sea. It is here that his Majesty, King Aysel, invites all sorts of people to enjoy the beauty of the castle and the city, to partake in the development of a fair, peaceful society, and create a new life where you will truly be accepted no matter your background.

Just remember that if you manage to find a creature, contact the castle guards to bring it to the king for swift justice.

But when brought to the King’s court, you are not killed. No, swift justice, in the eyes of the King, is to accept any being and offer work in the castle. Of course the public does not realize this, as news about the people in the castle doesn’t get spread about. In fact, the king has come up with a new idea to combat Spitespawn that utilizes your kind as a unit, since your powers are much stronger than regular knights. But this is still a work in progress. In the meanwhile, enjoy the life in the castle!

Rules of the Castle


  1. Never go outside without disguise and permission.
  2. Never enter the King's quarters nor open the curtains that hide him.
  3. The King's orders are final.
  4. Get along with the others; if there is a dispute, it must be brought to the attention of the Supervisor.
  5. If dietary needs are specific, contact the Supervisor to make arrangements with the cook.
  6. Crimes will NOT be tolerated.
  7. In case of emergency, rules can be suspended depending on need (determined by the King).

Name: Ellil, “King Aysel”

Age: 27 years old

Species: Human

Appearance: Only a handful of servants at the castle have seen the king face to face. But they cannot disclose his appearance. Though in paintings of the family from thirteen years ago, he looks to have black hair and shocking blue eyes.

Abilities: Known to be skilled in sword-fighting, as it is a part of typical training for the throne. Aside from that, there isn’t much else other than basic negotiating skills and penmanship.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Classified knowledge.

History: Twenty-seven years ago, the previous king and queen gave birth to a boy and, two years after him, a baby girl. The young prince and princess, Ellil and Enid, were raised to be humble and kind, so that they may be examples for the kingdom in the future. They had the best education in all of Luneia, the best foods, the best toys and instruments for their short-lived hobbies. But the two weren’t allowed out much, not without a guard and servant accompanying them. They didn’t make many friends their age; the duke’s children were about four or five years older than them and they only came to important dinners or balls. Thus, the two became inseparable. They used to do many odd things together, like spy on servants or dig for treasure in the courtyard. In fact, Ellil created games where they would dress up as each other on certain days to see if the king would notice or even attempt to sneak out of the castle to see who could bring back the largest animal and keep it a secret the longest. Even when the queen forbade it.
One day, when Ellil was fourteen and Enid twelve, the king had gone for a trip to a certain state of the kingdom to welcome a foreign minister. The queen and children were left in the castle, not a clue to what would happen to them on that very day. Only a few servants survived to tell the tale, but someone in the castle betrayed the king and attempted to assassinate the royal family. Ellil managed to survive with the help of Aeron, who was only a servant at the time. The king was also ambushed, but no one knew what had become of him.
Because of the sudden attempt at ruining the ruling family, Ellil is no longer allowed to leave the castle. The trauma of the event has made him quick to illness, so he never meets others face to face except for close, trusted servants. Most dukes and ambassadors can only speak to him through a curtain, but he rarely speaks back. He usually writes in response to a plea, in a concise and direct manner. However, he is not known to be unkind. Just rather… withdrawn.

Name: Aeron Izohir

Age: 329 (looks about 29) years

Species: Kitsune (specifically Fire Kitsune)

Job: Supervisor and Right Hand

Appearance: Aeron is a lanky fellow with a mop of reddish-brown hair that tends to hang over his eyes. He appears to have a rather coltish, gangly build; graceful seeming when standing tall and still, but too often seen darting about in a frazzled manner that distracts from this grace. His body movements are swift and sudden, but despite his constant state of frenzy, Aeron never forgets to stand with his shoulders straight and keeps his hair neat. His face is quite handsome, if he managed to stop looking so focused and relaxed a bit. He has a sharp nose and fox-like structure to his face, with mahogany colored irises. He also has a youthful complexion, with a few freckles scattered faintly across his cheeks. He doesn’t vary his wardrobe very often. He wears his servant’s suit faithfully, keeping it soil-free and tidy, never a button out of place.
In fox-form, he is a red fox with four tails.

Abilities:
Kitsune-bi (foxfire)- Aeron can call forth balls of blue fire that can be used as weaponry or as light. It does not burn plants or exude heat, but it can severely burn anything else upon contact.
Shapeshifting- The kitsune is known for its ability to shift from human to a multi-tailed fox.
Fire Affinity- As a fire kitsune, Aeron feeds off of fire energy to sustain his human form. This means he is also unable to be injured by fire and that he can control it, if available to him.
Illusion- The creation of a distortion that can be touched and seen by others. This takes a little bit of concentration, so if the concentration is broken then the illusion can fall apart.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths- He’s quite loyal and orderly, both communicating effectively with others and commanding a more defensive line of magic. Other than that, he’s capable of sensing faintly magical presences and detecting when a person is lying.
Weaknesses- Dogs, chaos, untidiness. He’s one to get very upset over another person’s lack of care for their appearance or space, offering to clean up for them. If anything makes a mess, it often takes his attention and he gets distracted by wanting to clean it up. Also, he has very low tolerance for rude, uncouth people.

History: Aeron originally lived in the woodlands seemingly as a fox, with no ability to change into a human, until about 100 years into his life. When he did gain his ability to change shape, he moved to the Republic to work in the trading business. He ventured back and forth between the Republic and the human kingdoms, selling wares that ranged from medicinal herbs to beautiful jewelry from only the rarest gems from the mountains. He loved exploration, but it came with its own risks.
After an incident where he was robbed of some of his most precious wares, he became merciless when it came to those dishonest with him. Aeron was then known to be a difficult trader, but always one who kept his word and offered quality goods for fair prices. But he also aided others when need be, often coming across other kitsune who granted him another tail at 200. When the war started, his trading partners in the human kingdom disappeared, causing him quite a bit of trouble. His business began to fail, with more than half his connections cut off. The council began to require military training for all citizens that were capable, so Aeron learned much about warfare and battle tactics, but he decided he would never be able to face innocent people in battle; he’d also sensed something off about the council, but he never investigated further. He escaped again into the woodlands he had once lived in, only to realize too late it was home to a human town (and camp for soldiers). Though he tried to lay low, it wasn’t long until the Republic burned those woods, the town trying to evacuate all its citizens. Out of good heart, Aeron tried to help them under the guise of a human, but was also ushered to escape with them, fleeing to the capitol to live out the end of the brutal war.
He did a few jobs here and there for many years, under different names and different identities, but when he managed to be accepted as a servant in the king’s castle only nineteen years ago, he felt he was finally safe. He was never close with the previous king, but Aeron often spent his time taking care of the prince and princess, acting informally as their own private adviser. Then, of course, came the incident in which the royal family (aside from Ellil) and many servants were killed. He protected Ellil and even banished whatever creature came to destroy the people of the castle, though exposing the fact he was actually a creature to everyone within the castle. However, they did not react with mistrust. He had saved them, after all; so, they all made a pact to keep the secret of this revelation, as well as making him the continued personal adviser to the new King (who, at the time, would refuse to see anyone else). And so, he continues to live on, using his illusions to pass as an older servant and even the King himself (when needing to give public announcements).

Holy crap someone posted an RP! I'm really tired right now but I'll find the time to read it tomorrow Berry.
Okay I read it after a quick power nap (although my goal was to sleep through the night).


Question before I start digging around for ideas, is this going to be combat based at all or is it just social?

Name: Briar Sola

Age: 41

Species: Wood Elf

Job: Bard/Performer/Gleeman

Appearance: Briar is fairly average height for a young wood elf at about five feet three inches. Her hair, skin, and eyes are dark in color and do not share the fragile qualities of many other elvish races. Wood elves are unique among all elves because of their long ears. While the rest of their bodies are very human in appearance, their ears give them away easily. In Briar's case, her ears are even longer than most wood elves. Standing up at a full fourteen inches. Since ears are considered the most defining feature on an elf, they were once the envy of all other wood elves.
Her black hair is long, thick, and untamable. Her eyes are so dark that they are nearly black. Her skin is tan and, if someone were to look very close, has an almost too natural quality about it, as though it were grown from the soil rather than in a womb.

Her clothing usually consists of long and colorful gowns. She keeps more form fitting clothes and wraps underneath, mostly out of paranoia about someone touching her. The gowns are specially tailored with dozens of hidden pockets. These pockets are full of various objects used in her shows. Some of the objects, such as the steel rings used for juggling, can be used as weapons in her skilled hands.

Abilities: Briar is a talented musician, story-teller, actress, and singer. She can play almost a dozen different instruments masterfully. She knows hundreds of famous stories and tells them in ways that captivate men, women, and children. She has such a talent for acting, that she has fooled even close relatives into believing that she was someone else.

Her greatest gift, however, is her singing voice. Some would go so far as to call it enchanted. While her singing has never shown any overt magical qualities, it has affected people and creatures in surprising ways. She has been known to sing in front of drunken crowds that were fighting and causing chaos, and have them all quietly listening to her before she finished the song.

Briar has also practiced and mastered countless slight-of-hand tricks.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths- Chauvinism, high degree of coordination, agility, quick reflexes, hundreds of mastered "magic tricks"
Weaknesses- Briar has a terrible phobia of being touched on her bare skin. This applies to anyone. She can stand someone touching her if there is clothing or something in between, but the thought of someone elses skin touching her own is enough to bring her to tears.

History: Before the fall of her small, woodland kingdom, Briar was a celebrated figure among her people. Her extraordinarily large ears made her a spectacle right from birth. As she grew, her natural talent for the performing arts made her one of the most well known and loved wood elves, despite her young age. She spent the first few decades of her life (which are all childhood years to a wood elf) honing her skills and performing in her peaceful home.

When the war reached her homeland, she was taken away by cover of night, along with her parents, and hidden deep in the woods. She stayed there, in a small cottage, for three years. Having never experienced war, she truly believed she was safe.

It was very early in the morning when disaster struck and her world was changed forever.

The attack was so violent and so full of terror, that her fragile young mind blocked most of it out. She remembers only being awoken by the shrill scream of her mother, and then coming to her senses hours later. She was tuvked away in the hollow trunk of a tree. A blanket was wrapped around her and she found a note from her father...

"Go to the kingdom of Luneia. You will find help there. Remember us."

With nothing more than a blanket, a note, and the clothes on her back, Briar set out on a seven hundred mile journey over a war-torn land.

She disguised herself as a human by tying her ears back and turning her blanket into makeshift cloak with a hood. Keeping her ears like that proved to be surprisingly painful. It also impaired her hearing so that most of the people she met on her journey believed her to be a deaf teenage human. This worked in her favor most of the time, as she was shown a great deal of kindness that would not have been shown to an elf.

Even with the help of several strangers, she was half starved by the time she reached her destination. The welcome that she received upon entering the castle in Luneia restored some of her faith in humans. She vowed that, should the king ever call on her, she would deny him absolutely nothing, even her life.

In the meantime, she makes a decent living entertaining the knights and guards in the castle.

Other: Briar is a fairly capable fighter when absolutely necessary. She uses her skill as a magician and her natural grace and agility to fight. She is peaceful by nature and will avoid fighting if she can. If she is forced to fight, it is a very defensive style and uses a great deal of distraction and trickery.

Name: Korneth Nadnet

Age: 317 human years(around early middle-aged for a Dark Elf)

Species: Dark Elf/Drow

Job: Doctor/Apothecary/Alchemist

Appearance: Korneth stands tall, like most Drow, at around six feet seven inches, with a lean weight of about 130 pounds, making him look lithe and light. His skin is a dark greyish-blue color, the commonplace mark of the Dark Elves. His face being very sharp and angled, with a few small scars dotting it as well. His hair is a silver-grey, and has a slight metallic sheen when hit just right by the light. His eyes are a deep violet color, and speak with many years of experience. He wears a formal white suit at most every time, which he cleans almost ritualistically, and whenever performing medical procedures, he wears a pair of white cloth gloves, which he will either replace or clean when necessary.

Abilities: He has innate knowledge of many medicinal plants, herbs, and other healing products, as well as the anatomical structure of many species, and how to treat illnesses of all kinds. From his life prior to becoming a doctor, he is highly adept at stealth, poison usage, and tracking living things. As a Drow, he has near-superhuman agility and dexterity, but at the cost of being much more frail and weak compared to most people

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths - Medicine, Alchemy, healing, stealth actions, indirect combat.
Weaknesses - Straight-up fighting, rare species of life, lack of medical supplies, physically frail.

History: Born centuries ago in the former lands of the Drow, Korneth's family ran the town apothecary where he lived. He was raised being taught about medicines, healing plants, and medical procedures. As he grew, he also found an innate talent in exploring the wilderness, scouting out new areas, finding helpful plants and herbs, and being hidden in near-plain sight. When his town was destroyed by war, he escaped, surviving in the forest, hunting game and gathering plants, treating his wounds with his medical knowledge, and exploring. He only found out about the King's offer, when a man lost in the wilderness told him about it after Korneth saved him from a bear, healed his wounds, and set him back on the path to civilization. He decided that if anything, he could always escape if the King tried to kill him. Since then, he's worked as a doctor, apothecary, and alchemist under the king's service, healing and curing many of the past and present inhabitants of the castle.

Other: He's capable at acting as a spy or infiltrator, though he dislikes having to do so, as he much prefers his job as a doctor.

Generally around the castle he takes a more mundane form. He disguises himself to look more like a typical house cat, a moderately overweight one at that. In this form his grimace expresses contempt more than anything, although smaller creatures and those that know his true nature find it somewhat menacing at times.

Abilities: On the physical sides of things, he is culmination of his big cat relatives, besting each in their greatest areas. He is stronger than a lion or tiger, stealthier than a leopard, a faster sprinter than a cheetah, a true apex predator.

What truly distinguishes his kind from typical big cats are there innate magical abilities. They can muffle their movements to travel completely silently, and become invisible in dim light. With proper motivation and practice they posses minor shape shifting abilities, which allows him to take the form of a domestic cat at will. Finally Mingwa's are the origin of the cat's have nine lives myth.  If left undisturbed one will revive a few hours to a few days after death. Should the body be damaged beyond repair or old age is the cause of death the soul will instead pass on to the body of the next Mingwa cub who is born. A mingwa's life span is comparable to that of a human. He is currently in the prime of his fifth life. He is capable of human speech, although it is not so much speech as magically projecting his thoughts, which can make lying somewhat difficult.

Strengths: hunting, moving undetected, climbing, navigating in the dark, looking all cute and snuggly.

Weaknesses: doors and other human contraptions, belly rubs, ranged combat, being grabbed by the tail.

Age: Appears to around 45 but is in the middle fo his life cycle putting him somewhere between 334 to 345.
Species: Faun
Job: While he will work with Briar as a bard or help Korneth with healing and herbs his actual job is that of a grounds keeper and Gardner. He also helps handle any animals with the palace grounds.

Appearance: From his torso up Gibber is as short, stout, hairy, and fat man. He posses a remarkable potbelly, which jiggles when he laughs. Thick brown hair covers his arm and chest, with a scargly beard adorning his chin. With in his brown hair hide two little stumpy horns. His face is rigid and worn but always wearing a smile from ear to ear or at least a smirk. His blue eyes sparkle with mischievous.

From the waist down he posses the body of a goat, with powerful and hairy goat legs, and even a little tail that he refuses to reconige due to not being manly. He never wears any clothing other then a cloth he ties around his torso.

Abilities:
Force Field Projection: He can project physical force fields.
Kinetic Burst Projection: He can project kinetic bursts made from nature mana, charged.
Healing: He can rapidly heal himself, and can heal minor injuries on others.
Invisibility: Can turn invisible with trees blending around them.
Natural Affinity: Faun's are highly connected to nature, spirits, and creatures of the magical sort or of the mundane

Pied Piper: Gibber like most fauns crafted his own reed flute long ago in his youth. This flute is embed with magic which allows it to control, lull, calm, and summon plant and anmil life who hear the song. More sentient creatures are harder to control but they can be calmed and lulled.

Strengths: Hiding, Defending his land's, healing, playing his lute, knowledgeable on herbs and plants, able to survive in the wild,

weakness: Becomes weaker power wise as well as physically if separated from some form of nature or woodland. If sperated for to long it could even take a mental toll. Not a direct fighter,

History: Gibber was enjoying life, in his woodlands lazying about protecting his lands when needed but mostly enjoy his life and pestering the nymphs all day. Then the war came, both sides were monstrous to the woodlands Gibber and all fauns held sacard. Gibber felt vile in his heart at the sight of each army doing all he could to bring doom from within the forest for ether side. Gibber did his duty, in full any man who raised a torch in his land or any land Gibber found them in were assaulted by anything left to muster. IN the end however, his lands were razed and Gibber was tired. He hid for a time trying to repair what had been done but the damage was to devastating, and to monstrous for him to bare. Species: Deminymph.
Occupation: Clothier / tailor for the King's court and castle.

Appearance:
• Willowy frame of slender limb and moderate height, cresting at around five and a half feet and bearing more touches of pale rose than tan.
• Soft brown hair glitters golden in the sunlight and always seems to ripple, even if no wind can be felt.
• Twin tidal pools crown a windkissed face, irises of ebbing seafoam blues and greens.


Abilities:
• As daughter of a lesser sea-deity, broadly-tuned control over wind. Beïue can calm or summon a breeze, alter its direction, and adjust its intensity. While she cannot perform precise, minute actions with her skills, such as extinguishing only a single candle of five lined in a row across a room, staggering gusts and gales are well within the abilities of this daughter of sea storms when riled. At the height of her focus and energy, Beïue can produce winds to topple opponents or obstacles of up to 300lbs.
• In water, can move with speeds that bring to mind the darting curls of seals or fish, rather than a delicately-limbed woman.
• Exceptional weaving skills inherited from her mother, Ligea, allowing this deminymph prowess enough to create virtually any type of desired fabric, given the proper materials — and the knowledge to mend and properly maintain each. From Ligea, Beïue also learned the necessary magic to gather and spin the material used by the sea-nymphs for their attiring, which produces a fabric of ethereal texture, yet unparalleled sturdiness and endurance. Although rendered exceedingly rare a possession outside of the sea-nymph's domain — even before the war-induced evaporation of trade — this fabric is well- and widely-known as "tidesilk", fiercely coveted by ship captains, merchants, and nobles alike.


Strengths / Weaknesses:
• Though soft-spoken and often pensive, Beïue is exceptionally cheerful and carries a ready smile. Utterly entranced by colors from a young age, she has since blossomed an knack for fashion and loves to play design with anything that will sit still long enough to be measured. This deminymph is incredibly fleet-fingered and light-footed by nature, and has inherited a touch of her siren-grandmother's voice enough to charm creatures the size of large dogs or smaller. Beïue is able to hold her breath upwards of thirty minutes, and can speak, sing, or play a wind instrument continuously for half that time before needing to take a breath.
• Despite her adoration of all things vibrantly hued and scented, Beïue lacks anything resembling a green thumb, and instead substitutes colored sketches for gardening. She suffers if exposed to a climate with low-to-no humidity for extended periods of time, and swiftly weakens when breathing air cloyed with smoke or pungent scents. Beïue cannot read or write.

Name: His kind don`t have names but some have called him Mason
Age: His kind can spend eons asleep in there stones so aging them is difficult.
Species: Gargoyle
Job: Castle Guardian
Appearance: Mason poses a powerful and imposing figure. His form is mostly humanoid with a body covered in nothing but pure muscle, and arms and legs that could crush anything beneath them. He also posses a set of thin but powerful wings, and a spiked tail as well as two horns that adorn his bald head.

Abilities: Night vision: Can see clearly in full darkness.
Regenerative Healing: Can heal almost all wounds while asleep in the stone.
Durability: can sustain numerous blows of internal or external assaults.
Strength: Extermly strong and a pyshcil powerhouse.
Stone sleep: Can freeze himself in stone in order to heal himself,
Guardian: Once he is bound as gaudrin to a building or such he develops a ability to sense what is happening there and any malevolent intent.

History: Mason`s life has been that of a gargoyle. Bound to a places protection and sleep until he is needed. He fought in the great war but it was his duty, for he was bound. A gargoyle may has thoughts but by there nature they are bound to duty's that override such things. Ownership of Mason and his clan shifted many times over the war, but eventually the war was over and most of his clan was destroyed. As years passed Max was moved about, and evetunly left in some old garden forever asleep as is the way of a unbound gargoyle. Most thought the statue merely creepy, until it caught the ear of the kings men. It took serel men just to move the thing but it was brought before the king and awakened the only way a gargoyle can be.......by binding it as the guarding of the castle.
